Waterhole revisited
It’s early May and up until this past weekend the ice on the lake remained. I was away for the past few days and over the weekend it rained. When I returned to Kuopio on May 8th the lake was free of ice. It’s nice to see Spring slowly arrive here, but it may be more difficult to get photographs of some of the local waterfowl
I was able to obtain a photograph of this Great crested grebe. Lighting wasn’t the greatest last night but the main features are available to identify the bird. These lower resolution JPEGs also don’t help.
I’ve also seen the Eurasian wigeon a few more times.
I finally was able to also photograph a local hare that has been eluding me the past two weeks. Some of the hares I have seen farther north of Kuopio retain some of their white hair coat. The hares are quite a bit larger than
