Thanksgiving in Helsinki (Fazer Experience Visitor Centre)

I spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Helsinki joining the staff of the Fulbright Finland Foundation (FFF) and fellow Fulbrighters for the holiday. Thursday started with a visit to the Fazer Experience Visitor Centre in Vantaa. This is a large multinational company that was founded in Helsinki in 1891 by Karl Fazer. Together with his wife Berta he opened a French-Russian confectionery at Glogatan (Kluuvikatu) 3 in Helsinki  Over time the Fazer family grew the business to include baked goods, cafes, and other items. It is one of the largest food companies in Finland and surrounding countries. Sampling the chocolate is a part of the visitor centre experience! The Easter bunny sculpture made of chicken eggs is a prominent feature of the centre. During the holidays the eggs are emptied and then replaced with chocolate (Fazer Mignon).
